Richard Turnbull is the Chair of the History of Art department at the Fashion
Institute of Technology. He also
teaches at The Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and
Columbia University and has published on diverse subjects including music for The
Village Voice and Praxis. Turnbull holds a Ph.D. from New
York University’s Institute of Fine Arts, where he specialized in Islamic art.
