Welcome to the first edition of the new MUSEO, a quarterly contemporary art magazine, which many of you know as the new incarnation of what was for years the annual contemporary art journal of Columbia University. As before, MUSEO is dedicated to dialogic forms of writing, with its centerpiece being conversations between some of today's most innovative artists and writers. Unbound by the constraints of print, MUSEO integrates the formerly divided hot and cold media of past generations into a magazine that maximizes the communicative properties of print, television, and radio, producing a hybridized media outlet for contemporary art discourse. In coming issues, you will find downloadable podcasts of tours of key sites in the New York contemporary art world as well as video interviews and various interactive features. Our first book project will be a bound compendium of selected artist interviews from the magazine. MUSEO is the product of an amazing communal effort, and it is with the greatest pleasure that I introduce our inaugural issue.
